The Word Cropping

I use this word daily in my blog and want to explain to the people that view my work what certain words mean if there not familiar with photographic words that explain the digital image of today. I will pick another word i think is important to explain to you what it means either in capturing the image or in editing. I hope this helps to understand how i work and the things i have learned by myself over the years.

Cropping an Image

Image Cropping is the removal of unwanted outer areas from a photographic or illustrated image. The process usually consists of the removal of some of the peripheral areas of an image to remove extraneous trash from the picture, to improve its framing, to change the aspect ratio, or to accentuate or isolate the subject matter from its background. Depending on the application, this can be performed on a physical photograph, artwork, or film footage, or it can be achieved digitally by using image editing software. The process of cropping is common to the photographic, film processing, broadcasting, graphic design.

So with that in mind here is the full image form yesterday of the old boat, then the second image is the cropped version showing the detail you still maintain with the full frame 61mp Sony A7r4 using the 90mm Macro Lens.
